Swiss roots
I was born 1967 in a tiny village, hidden deep within the Swiss mountains, called Vals.

The rough alpine nature formed my love for the archaic esthetics. Vals is situated in the back of a steep valley, a canyon that separates the village from the «outer world».

Surrounded by this beautiful but also suffocating environment I started to feel like seeing the big, wide world.
Israel
When I was nineteen I went to Israel for a short visit and ended up staying here for the next twenty years. Fascinated by a way of living that was very different to the typical Swiss life I became Jewish and married an Israeli. The Swiss roots as well as the christian background were very useful to see things from a different point of view.

I spent more time in Tel Aviv than in Switzerland and I am probably more Israeli than Swiss, but the roots will always be a very important part of mine.
Passion
My artistic career began shortly after I moved to Israel. I have worked as a designer and stylist but the need to realize my own ideas has always been my greatest desire. The biggest influence in my work is probably the ability to see the beauty of details. My work is generally not fore-planned, but emerges from within my almost subconscious. Things and materials showing their own history interest me much more than clean, perfect lines. Using rough, coarse materials, infusing insects, embryos and women, I create an aesthetic microcosm of the world.

My work is drawn from nature, it's the "seen world". It's inside us and already there, people often just don't see it.
